Learning Hebrew Connects You to Israel 🇮🇱

Hebrew is more than a language—it’s the living thread that connects us to our people, our history, our prayers, and the modern State of Israel. Whether you’re drawn to the spiritual depth of Jewish texts, want to understand Israeli culture more fully, or simply wish to engage in Hebrew conversation with confidence, learning Hebrew opens the door to a more connected and meaningful Jewish life.

For decades, the Community Hebrew Program—now at Valley Beth Shalom—makes Hebrew accessible, engaging, and relevant. Become part of the conversation that has shaped Jewish identity for generations by enriching your life through a vibrant community dedicated to learning Hebrew.

What Our Students Say...

“In my class, we have had students from distant cities, Winnipeg, Portland, and Philadelphia - able to join us through Zoom. That they could not find similar programs in their local areas suggests how vital this program is..”
- Louise W.
“We’ve fallen in love with Hebrew. Adult learners with busy lives, it is only the online format that has made this sustained Jewish learning possible. ”
- Jan
“As an older person, I especially need the continuity of the classes, and I like others in our class have formed a bond with each other.”
-Ronna S.
